Most of the time, you don't need to do anything—Google Play auto-updates apps by default over Wi-Fi. If you want to update manually:
Open the Google Play Store app.
Tap your profile icon in the top-right corner.
Tap Manage apps & device.
Under "Updates available," tap See details.
Tap Update next to AlterMe, or tap Update all.
For Google's full walkthrough, see Update apps on Android.
How do I turn on automatic updates?
Open the Play Store, tap your profile icon → Settings → Network preferences → Auto-update apps. You can choose:
Over any network—updates over Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Over Wi-Fi only—recommended to avoid data charges.
Don't auto-update apps—you'll handle updates manually.
You can also enable auto-update for AlterMe specifically: in the Play Store, search for AlterMe, tap the ⋮ (more) menu on the app page, and toggle on Enable auto update.
Why isn't AlterMe updating?
A few common causes:
You're already on the latest version—if no update appears, you're good!
No Wi-Fi—if auto-update is set to Wi-Fi only, updates wait until you reconnect.
Not enough storage—free up space by deleting unused apps or clearing cache.
Battery saver or Data saver is on—these can block background updates. Temporarily disable them.
Play Store is glitching—go to Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Storage → Clear cache (clearing data will reset Play Store preferences like auto-update settings).
Staged rollout—some updates are released gradually and may take a few days to reach your device.
Your Android OS is out of date—some updates require a newer Android version. Check Settings → System → Software update (wording varies by manufacturer).
