What should I do if my heart rate tracking seems inaccurate?

Heart rate readings from wearables can be affected by several factors. Try these quick checks:

  • Fit: The ring should be snug (not tight) with sensors on the palm side. We recommend the index or middle finger.

  • Movement & grip/contact: Tight or repetitive gripping can break skin contact or reduce blood flow (e.g., holding a leash/phone, cycling handlebars, weightlifting, trekking poles, stroller/grocery bags).

    • Tip: Wear the ring on your non-dominant hand, and push the ring slightly up so it’s not directly at the base of your finger during these activities. High vibration (e.g., mountain biking) can also introduce noise.

  • Temperature: Cold fingers reduce circulation and signal quality.

  • Battery level: Keep the ring above 40% for best sensor performance.
