Differences in heart rate readings between devices can arise due to factors such as sensor technology, sampling algorithms, and placement on the body. Understanding these differences can help improve the accuracy of your results.
Fit: The ring should be snug (not tight) with sensors on the palm side. Ensure the ridge of the ring faces upward. We recommend the index, middle, or ring finger on your non-dominant hand.
Movement & grip/contact: Tight or repetitive gripping can break skin contact or reduce blood flow (e.g., holding a leash/phone, cycling handlebars, weightlifting, trekking poles, stroller/grocery bags). Additionally, warm your hands if they're cold to improve circulation and signal quality.
Tip: Wear the ring on your non-dominant hand, and push the ring slightly up so it’s not directly at the base of your finger during these activities. High vibration (e.g., mountain biking) can also introduce noise.
Temperature: Cold fingers reduce circulation and signal quality. Warm your hands to improve blood flow.
Battery level: Keep the ring above 40% for best sensor performance.
Advanced troubleshooting:
To refresh the device performance, open the app, tap the ring icon, and select "Power Cycle."
If issues persist, perform a factory reset by selecting "Factory Reset," placing the ring on its charger, and re-pairing.
