Awake periods of 5 minutes or less are smoothed over in your sleep duration graphs to reduce noise and help highlight overall sleep patterns. This is because it’s normal to have short periods of subconscious “awake” time throughout the night—like tossing, turning, or briefly shifting positions.
This smoothing doesn’t affect your overall sleep trends or insights—it simply helps present your sleep data in a clearer, more meaningful way. Longer or more sustained awake periods will still appear in your sleep graph when they occur.
