What are Movement Calories?
Movement Calories represent the energy you burn through everyday activity—walking, standing, moving, and simply living your day. These don’t include structured workouts but reflect how active you are overall. To view your Movement Calories in AlterMe, navigate to the Today tab and switch the toggle in the top-right corner from Sleep to Activity. Your Movement Calories will be part of the active calories displayed.
What are Workout Calories?
Workout Calories come from structured exercise sessions—strength training, cardio, yoga, or recovery sessions that you track, log, or import into AlterMe. They show how much energy your intentional workouts contribute to your daily total.
What are Total Activity Calories?
Total Activity Calories combine all movement-based energy — your Movement Calories plus your Workout Calories. This gives a full view of how much you burn from physical activity in a day. To analyze Total Activity Calories, open the calories section in the app and tap on the graph to see a detailed breakdown. This includes categories like Movement Calories and Workout Calories for better understanding.
What are Total Calories?
Total Calories (sometimes called Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE)) reflect everything your body burns in a day. This is your baseline metabolism, movement calories, and workout calories. For a deeper breakdown, access the calories section in the app. The graph shows components like baseline metabolic rate (for basic bodily functions) and calories burned during sleep, giving a complete picture of your total calories burned.
This is the most complete view of your body’s daily energy use. To access this complete view, use the Today tab or the detailed graph in the calories section of the app. These tools provide insights into your total caloric expenditure and its contributing factors.
